How to get a summer glow (tan)?

So I'm of light complection and want to tan up... I'm going to the water park tomorrow and I fear sunless tanners (streaks, orange hue etc.) so What can I use that is going to produce an even SUN tan with a golden undertone yet still give some protection from uv rays?
