Help with Anti-Virus softwares.?

Everytime i install an Anti-Virus, it detects a lot of programs as threats like notepad, logon.exe, and a lot of other files from the WIndows folder? When it asks if i want to delete or ignore, i click ignore, but I can't use the Notepad and any other programs afterwards. Please help.
