I think its just something that has been misinterpreted over the year, and bring this mistake into light cause anger to many Catholics, because of this flaw in the logic. this mistake can be easy covered out with one very out of context phase, "trust in you faith". this is the only answer that your going to find at the of a long explanation. Also, since the text has been translated and interpreted so many times before the "newer" bibles were printed it is hard to base anything literally on what it says.
