Help! I had photo negatives in a box that was accidentally left outside. Can they be saved?

The box was on a porch that leaked and then covered with a tarp and forgotten. They have been out there in the weather for a year or so and the tarp blew off. I had a lot of other things going on and forgot about the box and what might be in it. The negatives are in sleeves but look dusty and dirty and like there are some water spots. Is there a way to clean them? I am not sure I have the photos and if there is a picture I would like off the negatives I would like to try and clean them as best as possible then have one or two developed to see how they turn out. I don't want to waste to much money. I usually took pictures of things that mattered to me so I feel like they may have something on them meaningful to me. The pictures were not with the negatives so I may have just had the negatives developed and not the pictures. So how can I best get them back to their original condition? There were also some fine linens in the box, any chance of saving those too?

My dog has a non contagious mange?

My dog has Demodectic Mange. I took my dog into the vet and found out she has Demodectic Mange and she is being treated with a flea dip and antibiotics... Just feel bad cause she is really red and scabby in some spots, she looks miserable is there anything I can do to ease her way through the treatment maybe speed it up or just make her more comfortable? Once I moved in, things have been fine, but about once a month he gets in a funny mood and storms around in a strop. What schools should I look at?

I am currently a junior right now at a private school in Boston, Ma getting ready to apply to colleges. I've looked at schools like Providence College and Hofstra so far, and not sure where else to head to. My weighted gpa is an 85.09 and I have taken a few honors courses. I've worked at job since age 15, altar served, played a sport, and been apart of several clubs including the National Honor Society. Ponies that size are deceptively strong. You shouldn't be riding him extensively, but getting on every once an a while would be fine. In my opinion, it is better to ride him a bit to keep him in shape than not and let him get fat and uncomfortable. If you are really looking for something to do with him, you could break him to drive or do natural horsemanship with him and have him be a "trick pony." As long as you are not riding too much and are not using him as your primary riding horse, you should be totally fine. Good luck and happy riding!

I went to Petsmart today to do some of my regular shopping. I went to the back, and decided I wanted a couple of guppies for my tank. I went and asked the lady if she could get me some. She said "are you 18?", I obviously said no. She said "Sorry we're not allowed to sell fish to people under 18, is you're parent or guardian here? (she literally stated it like a permission form). I said no, my parents were at the home depot, at the very opposite side of the plaza I was in. I kept arguing with her about since when they started that rule, since I'd gotten some fish from them before, and she said "You must be mistaken, that's always been a policy here." Finally she called her manager over, who couldn't give me a decent explanation, and just said "It's just one of those rules, you know? Sorry." He finally after arguing about 5 more minutes reluctantly let the girl bag up some guppies. I have also had thsi problem once with Petco, but that was only once and I haven't had that problem since. What's up with this? I'm friggin 14! I might understand more if I was asking to buy a bird or hamster or snake, etc., or if I was a 7 or 8 year old wanting to buy a fish, but come on, who are these restrictions helping (And if that is their genuine concern, why not make the age 12 or 13)? I mean I'm old enough to work there! I'm not asking to buy alcohol, cigarettes, graffitti, pain killers, , I'M ASKING TO BUY A FIIISSSSHH!!!!! I Need Advice on Quitting Smoking?

ok. ive tried to quit about 2 years ago. cold turkey. i did it for 2 days and i broke and went to the bar to bum one. and then i bought a pack the next day. lol. so im 24. i NEED to quit asap. ive been smoking for about 7 years, a half a pack a day. i used to be in VERY good shape at one point, and smoking is stopping me from doing activities i used to do. and im still young. right now im on a plan i made up myself, and im sure many people tried this method. one week i smoked and counted how many i smoked per day. it came out to an average of 12. so the next week i smoked 12 day for a week, next week 11, next week 10, then 9, and im down to 8 a day. ive been true to my schedual but afraid it's gonna get much much harder soon. has anyone tried this method? or what else should i do? because after this, I NEVER wanna touch a Newport again. Tips for learning acoustic guitar?

i just got a Washburn Lyon 6-String Acoustic Guitar for my 15th b-day, and i have a few questions. k first of all, i want to teach myself, and i understand that i will prolly need a few pointers, but i dont wanna go to some person every day for an hour learning how to hold a guitar and the finger variations, i wanna learn myself. My first question is: Are my fingertips (left pointer and middle) suppossed to be this sore/tender? i have been playing for 3 days, almost non-stop. Am i playing right? Too often? Should i play for only 1-2 hrs a day or something? My second question is: Should i start out with easy tabs then work my up? im teaching myself "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Third: Can i play 7-String tabs? do i need to tune differently or should i just ignore the last chord or something? And last but not least: Do i have to use the pick? id rather pluck w/ my thumb.

The great thing about donkeys is that they teach your horse manners. If you tie the horse up to the donkey the horse will no longer have any bad habits on the ground, however the horse will hate the donkey. I have a friend that has a donkey that lives with her horses and it works great for her. My old horse lives with a goat at his new home and they have never had any problems (he's the kind that gets wayy too attached to anything that moves). I don't think sheep are the best, and llamas scare me too. I'd personally go with either a donkey or a goat. I've always heard great things about them. Would a cow work? It might eat too much but that's what my grandma put her colts out with in order to wean them. I definitely wouldn't get a dog because almost everyone I know has had a dog macred by a horse because the dog startled the horse either in the field or in the stall. I agree with an earlier comment that said horses are the best. I would think that any animal would bond with your horse, though, so just take whatever you can find. I bet a lot of rescues have some donkeys and maybe goats you can adopt.

I have a chronic, recurring toothache in one tooth. Possible causes?

Background information: I have had braces twice in my life--once when I was 12, and once when I was 21. Ever since then, I have had a problem with a feeling of pressure and pain in one specific tooth. Long periods of time can go by without my having a toothache and then suddenly it will happen. I am wondering if this could have anything to do with nerve damage or something from having braces twice. I have heard that the pressure of braces on the teeth actually is a kind of trauma and it is better not to have them more than once. Unfortunately for me, having them twice was unavoidable. Thanks.

Ok so not to long ago i was given a beatiful black lab for my birthday, well it turns out it is evil. Advice on setting up DVD on TV with only Cable hook up port?

Most DVD players now adays rely on those 3 wire connections in the back (red, yellow, white) however I have an older Emerson TV I'd like to put a DVD player on but it does not have the ports in the back of the TV to accommodate the 3 wires, just a cable port. I noted that the cox cable port on the back of the DVD is not like the cable port on the back of the TV so cannot hook them up that way either. Why am I so out of touch with my own Generation?

I don't think you are alone in that. I feel out of touch with the city I live in, let alone generation. I seem to get along good with kids or with older adults, but nobody in their 20's. I believe the world has gotten more self absorbed - people are not interested in other people if it causes them inconvenience. People of this generation want to be near success, and happiness, and those that are "blessed", and don't have time for those who really need them. And those of us who try make waves or don't fit in just right are looked down upon. As for church, I found that the more people profess that they are good christians, the further from God their actions are. I am in no way perfect, or a "good" christian, but I believe in God and I try to do the best I can with what he gave me. Unfortunately, this means I'm on a lonely path too. I am tired of shallow people, those that come up and say Hi, give the plastic smile, and the limp handshake, but there is no feeling. This world is a pionless one, and maybe that is the problem.

Can you give me any info on Marfan's Syndrome?

My husband was just diagnosed today with a "mildly dilated aortic root". I was researching it online and was pointed to Marfan's Syndrome. As I was reading the symptoms of Marfan's I started freaking out b/c those symptoms describe my husband. He is 6'9", has a protruding bone, long fingers and toes, flat feet, stretch marks, back problems, joint pain and now the dilated aortic root. He is 29 years old and I'm reading that people with Marfan's if not caught early can die in their early 30's but if treated can have a normal lifespan of 70 years or more. Can anyone out there with experience with Marfan's give me any info....some hope maybe? My husband is going in for a CT scan on Tuesday to look at the extent of the aortic root dilation. Marfan's has not been mentioned by the doctor, should my husband bring it up? We just had a baby boy in April of '09 and Marfan's is a genetic order so I am also worried about him. Please, any info would be great.

Im gonna have to go with the Xr. 25cc's isnt gonna make or break you. I used to have an Xr-80 as a kid and I absolutely loved that thing. And theres one thing about it, you pretty much rest ured that when ever you get on the xr its gonna crank and its gonna run like a champ. As for the performance aspect. Those two bikes I'm sure are relatively similar performance wise. If one is faster than the other, all the slower one would need is a 15 dollar sprocket and boom....even. Lumpy arms?

I asked a fitness expert several weeks ago how to get rid of "wings" on my upper arms. I was told to use a stretch "rope" above my head several times a day. Another lady did that exercise, and she said she got rid of her "wings." I tried it and within two weeks, my arms just above and below my elbows became very lumpy and unsightly. Does anyone know of any exercise to get rid of these lumps? I have stopped the stretch rope exercise. (I much prefer the wings to the lumpy sight.) I started using the UBE at the gym for upper arm exercises yesterday, but it's far too soon to tell if it will make my lumpy arms better. Any suggestions are very welcome. Thanks.

I've recently changed doctors and he says I have to quit smoking or he will not treat me. My next appointment is scheduled for Oct., with orders for blood work to check for nicotine, one week prior. My score was above 1000, and they have now ordered lab work, AND a cardiac catherization next week. I have stopped smoking, but JUST. I think I'm about to be busted big time!!!
